I would like to start a little daily devotional that I can post on here. I always aim to bring truth and uplifting news to all who read. So today I will attempt to start doing this daily little blurb for us all, yes for you and me. So…here goes;
“I call upon the Lord in my distress, and He answers me.”
In troubling times society says we should be self-sufficient and not need any help. That is for both men and women. We should be able to get through the things that trouble us ourselves. But here, we see God’s Word says something different, that we should call upon the Lord when distressed. Why do we have issues with that sometimes? Why do we have issues with intimacy and transparency? I think sometimes it stems from just not knowing what to say and how to say it.
Which is why I love Romans 8:27-28. Because even though we deal with our sinful nature, limited vision and fear of pain can distort our ability to pray and be transparent with our creator. Thankfully, “the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God” (v. 27). He reminds us that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him (v. 28), even when His yes to someone else means a heartbreaking no for us.
“God is good, and that’s all there is to it. Whatever He decides, I’m at peace.” With confidence in the Lord’s goodness, we can trust Him to answer every prayer according to His will and for His glory. Besides He already knows what’s on our hearts, in our souls, and on our minds. Hallelujah and amen!
